The Minneapolis Regional Chamber Educator Externship program brings career-based learning to life. Through this unique professional development opportunity, secondary and post-secondary educators, guidance counselors, and administrators are immersed in the day-to-day operations of key regional employers. These onsite experiences help create a bridge between business and education.
The Chamber’s Educator Externship bridges this divide by connecting employers with classroom teachers and career counselors.
This annual multi-day event offers high school and college faculty the opportunity to visit local businesses and see first-hand what it means to work in that industry. Educators and business leaders are able to engage in detailed conversations about needed skillsets, technical tools, entry-level positions, and career pathways. Educators are then able to take this information back to their students and classrooms and incorporate real-world scenarios into classroom lesson plans.
