Minneapolis Regional Chamber Announces Search for Next CEO
Long-time corporate and nonprofit leader John Stanoch to assume interim role
MPLS, Minn. – June 27, 2024 – The Minneapolis Regional Chamber (MRC) announced today that it has begun its search for its next CEO. Seasoned corporate and nonprofit executive John Stanoch will serve as the organization’s interim CEO, effective immediately.
“John is a highly regarded leader in Minnesota who will be an incredible asset to the organization as we thoughtfully consider the right person to lead MRC into the future,” said MRC Board of Directors Chair Darrel German.
“I look forward to connecting with business leaders in Minneapolis and the region to move their priorities forward as the board focuses on its search for the organization’s permanent leader,” said Stanoch. “The MRC plays a critical role in advocating for business in our city and region and this important work will continue in the interim.”
The interim MRC role is not new to Stanoch, having served as interim president for the organization for seven months in 2016, prior to Jonathan Weinhagen being named president and CEO in September 2016. Stanoch is currently the board chair of Medica Foundation and has served in several other top roles, including board chair of the MRC, president and CEO of the Minnesota USA Expo 2027, interim president of the Science Museum of Minnesota and president and CEO of Ronald McDonald House. Stanoch has also been a Hennepin County District Court Judge and senior executive for Qwest Communications.
